New Reuters Poll: Biden’s Approval Falls to Lowest Rating of His Presidency

Another week, another new polling low for President Biden who now finds himself scraping the lowest number of his presidency according to Reuters/Ipsos. This could be a “danger zone” for Democrats in November as each week goes by and Biden still continues to hemorrhage support and lose confidence from the American people.

Election Day might not be shaping up to be a red wave in Congress, it might end up being a red tsunami if the numbers keep heading south at this rate.

Perhaps it’s numbers like these that have the White House recalculating and deciding that perhaps going all-in on Covid mandates wasn’t the sure-winner they claimed it would be:

President Joe Biden’s public approval rating fell to the lowest level of his presidency this week, a danger sign for his Democratic Party which risks losing control of Congress in the Nov. 8 elections, according to a Reuters/Ipsos opinion poll.

The national poll, conducted Feb. 2-3, found that 41% of U.S. adults approved of Biden’s performance in office, while 56% disapproved and the rest were not sure. The prior week’s poll had put Biden at a 45% approval rating and 50% disapproval.

Americans appear increasingly exhausted by the COVID-19 pandemic and its economic toll. About six in ten think the country is heading in the wrong direction, with the economy and public health most often cited as top concerns, the poll showed.

Covid is exhausting, but not as exhausting as having Gramps in the White House come out every month with a bold new pandemic action plan only for that plan to fall apart and never pan out a week later. What’s tiring is bureaucrats lecturing Americans about washing their hands, keeping their distance, and getting their vaccines. Voters have been infantilized, which is the only posture the Democratic Party knows how to take towards them.

This paragraph from Reuters is kinda funny, if not downright wishful thinking:

Democrats are increasingly worried that dissatisfaction with Biden’s presidency could cost them their congressional majorities. If Republicans take control of either the U.S. House of Representatives or Senate, Biden’s legislative agenda could be doomed.

If Republicans take over the House or Senate, Reuters says, Biden’s agenda “could be doomed.”

Newsflash: Biden’s agenda is already doomed thanks to members of his own party, namely Sen. Kyrsten Sinema and Sen. Joe Manchin. What else is left for Biden’s legislative agenda beyond breaking up his massive spending and voting bill into smaller chunks that might attract some level of bipartisan support? Build Back Better is Build Back Deader.

Now toss a Supreme Court nomination in Senate’s schedule and it’s pretty clear that Biden’s legislative agenda is sufficiently already doomed.

What else is left for Democrats to accomplish in 2022 that could turn this sinking ship around? Biden’s not a leader in the way that he can sell a vision to the country and then grease all the right wheels to make it happen, he simply doesn’t have it in him.

He took the White House as the “Not-Trump” option, and nothing more. Thus, the reason his support is so soft and his numbers continue dropping. He has no true following like, for example, former President Trump does.

Inflation is a dead weight around Biden’s neck, and his team has done little to give anyone confidence that they know how to reverse course.
