Next Trump Rally Set for Saturday, March 12, in Florence, South Carolina

Former President Trump will be making his way to the Palmetto State this weekend for a rally at the Florence Regional Airport. Trump did not hold a rally in the month of February, instead garnering a national audience by appearing as the keynote speaker at the 2022 CPAC gathering in Florida.

Following Trump’s first two rallies of the year in Arizona and Texas, the South Carolina rally in Florence this weekend should prove to be a very large event.

  • South Carolina Governor Henry McMaster
  • Russell Fry, Candidate for South Carolina’s 7th Congressional District
  • Katie Arrington, Candidate for South Carolina’s 13th Congressional District

Both Fry and Arrington are Trump-endorsed candidates hoping to make an impact on the 2022 midterm elections:

Attendees at the March 12 rally will hear from speakers including South Carolina Governor Henry McMaster, SC-01 candidate Katie Arrington, and SC-07 candidate Russell Fry.

Trump recently endorsed Arrington, who is looking to unseat Nancy Mace. He said that she is “liked and respected and a true Republican,” noting her “strong” stance on “the Military, our great Vets, Law Enforcement, [and] the Boarder.”

Arrington traveled to Mar-a-Lago in late February for a private meeting with Trump and said she was grateful for the opportunity to “talk about the Lowcountry.”

Governor McMaster also traveled to Mar-a-Lago for a private meeting with the former President in February and said he was “happy to do so.” Details of that meeting were not immediately released.

Russell Fry also received the endorsement of Trump last month. Fry is running against incumbent Tom Rice, who Trump called a “coward who abandoned his constituents.”

It remains to be seen in 2022 what kind of clout a Trump endorsement will carry. Results for the former President have been mixed in the past, but that doesn’t stop candidates from seeking a MAGA endorsement or getting the chance to address 30,000 Trump fans at a rally. The impact can be big as far as growing name recognition and finding a fundraising pool.

Trump remains at the top of the list for 2024 Republican Primary polls though has sunk recently under 50% support.

More details to come on Saturday including the live stream and how to watch.
