President Biden has tested positive for Covid-19 but reports indicate he’s experiencing mild symptoms.
Where did the president catch the virus? Anyone’s guess, but a recent trip to the Middle East provided numerous occasions for exposure. The President is said to be doing fine and continuing to work as those around him start testing and masking, etc…
Reports have all emphasized that Biden is fully vaccinated and “double boosted” so he should be doing just fine:
The mild symptoms and diagnosis protocol for Biden — a double-boosted 79-year-old at high risk for experiencing severe illness — so far will mean isolating and “working and resting” at the White House residence for the rest of the day, according to a senior administration official. This is the first time Biden has tested positive for Covid-19, and he last tested negative on Tuesday, per Jean-Pierre.
Biden wrote on Twitter Thursday afternoon that he is “doing great” following the positive test and said he called Pennsylvania politicians to send his regrets about having to cancel a scheduled trip to the commonwealth. The tweet was accompanied by an image of the President smiling at a desk, without a mask, in the residence of the White House.
However, it was Joe Biden himself who falsely claimed in July of 2021 that receiving a Covid-19 vaccination somehow actually prevents catching the virus at all. This narrative was widely accepted among vaccine proponents who were pushing the “no exceptions” vaccine absolutist mantra in 2021 as a means to “end the pandemic.”
That is until everyone realized that Covid-19 shots do not prevent the spread of infection, but serve to lessen the chances of severe infection and prevent hospitalization in some cases among the most vulnerable.
Here’s the video of Biden in 2021 falsely explaining that if you have the vaccine, “you’re not going to get Covid” so you better get it, jack:
That kind of emphasis, wrongly emanating from the top, led to a vaccine-mandate frenzy among cities and businesses eager to comply with the unattainable goal of zero-Covid. People lost jobs or were forced into early retirement because of the misguided belief by employers that being vaccinated provided a definitive layer of protection to stop the spread.
As Snopes reported at the time, Biden was vastly over-selling the vaccine as a way to end the pandemic and avoid Covid infection entirely despite ample scientific evidence to the contrary:
Biden’s statements above clearly contradict the conclusions of medical authorities such as the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), which has stated that while vaccines greatly reduce the risk of contracting COVID-19, and reduce the likelihood that those who do become ill will experience severe symptoms and be hospitalized, no vaccines are 100% effective.
Biden seems to be doing well so there’s no need for Kamala Harris to start measuring the drapes. That is, at least until after the midterms when Joe announces he’s not running again in 2024 but that will be unrelated to Covid.
