Paul Pelosi Allegedly Had Drug in System and Flashed “Police Privilege” Card During DUI Arrest

I guess if you’re married to the Speaker of the House, it’s easy to get a “police privilege” card to flash when you’re arrested after crashing your Porsche while driving intoxicated.

The ongoing saga of Paul Pelosi, husband of House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, has taken several twists and turns since his arrest for DUI following a vehicle crash when his Porsche collided with a Jeep on May 28.

At the time, Pelosi was leaving a Napa Valley California winery and clearly in no shape to be operating a moving vehicle. He’s lucky no one was killed.

Pelosi’s mugshot came out shortly after the arrest when the incident was confirmed by local Napa County authorities:

Pelosi is set to be arraigned today in Napa County Superior Court.

More details of the arrest have now emerged including Paul Pelosi allegedly flashing a donor card from a law enforcement charity as some kind of “police privilege” card as well as having slurred speech and appearing to be fully intoxicated and/or under the influence of another drug:

The DUI report alleges that Paul Pelosi handed officers his license along with an 11-99 Foundation card. The 11-99 Foundation is a charity that supports officers of the California Highway Patrol (CHP) and provides scholarships for their children.

Pelosi was reportedly the sole occupant of his vehicle and was in the driver’s seat when an officer of the Napa County Sheriff’s Department arrived at the scene. The other driver was identified only as John Doe (a placeholder name used when the true name of a person is unknown or is being concealed).

Along with the alcohol charge, the complaint also listed an unspecified drug as causing Pelosi to drive erratically and contribute to the crash:

A two-charge criminal complaint filed in California’s Superior Court in Napa County alleges that Pelosi injured John Doe “while under the influence of an alcoholic beverage and a drug and under their combined influence.”

No word on what the drug was or whether it’s simply an added charge that could be dropped later.

The office of Speaker Pelosi has not offered comment on Paul Pelosi’s troubles since it’s an ongoing legal matter.
