It’s tough to use the word “mistakenly” when we’re talking about Beau Biden’s death from brain cancer in 2015 after he spent 1 year deployed in Iraq back in 2008-2009. Beau Biden did not “lose his life in Iraq,” he returned from his deployment very much alive.
The words, facts, and stories are all getting jumbled in Joe Biden’s head, yet it’s like it never even happened if you watch any major media. Speaking in Colorado, where he was on site to declare the Camp Hale Continental Divide as a national monument, Joe Biden let ‘er rip about his late son Beau:
Joe Biden falsely claims his late son Beau "lost his life in Iraq."

This wasn’t about forgetting someone’s name or even mistakenly calling out the name of a Congresswoman who died a month earlier. The tragic tale of Beau Biden is one that Joe often recounted and basically ran a campaign on.
As the Examiner reports, the story of Beau has been a staple on Biden’s stump speech for years now:
Biden, speaking in Colorado, highlighted the role that Camp Hale played in training the famed 10th Mountain Division ahead of World War II.
“American soldiers of the 10th Mountain Division scaled that 1800-foot cliff, at night, caught the Germans by surprise, captured key positions, and broke through the Germans’ defensive line at a pivotal point in the war,” the president stated before mentioning Beau. “Just imagine — I mean it sincerely — I say this as a father of a man who won the Bronze Star, the conspicuous service medal, and lost his life in Iraq. Imagine the courage, the daring, and the genuine sacrifice — genuine sacrifice they all made.”
Dating back to 2016, Biden has frequently tied Beau’s death to his service in Iraq and burn pit exposure, including multiple times this year, the White House noted to the Washington Examiner Thursday morning. The president has also said that Beau’s cancer and death were key factors driving his support for the PACT Act, a veterans-focused healthcare bill he signed into law in August.
Is this a “gaffe” or can we surmise that Biden simply forgot the facts about Beau’s military service and death? Was he intentionally lying about the story, throwing in some colorful words to spice things up like he often does? It’s also a question of stolen valor as Joe seems to be implying that Beau died on the battlefield or while deployed to the front line, which didn’t happen.
Anyone and everyone can appreciate losing a family member, especially a child, to any form of cancer. It’s a universal emotion and fear we can all empathize with. The question is why did Joe Biden feel the need, intentionally or mistakenly, to embellish his son’s death. It’s not even as if the events were that close to each other. Beau came home from Iraq in 2009 and didn’t succumb to cancer until 2015, a full six years later.
There is something not right with Joe Biden and it’s plainly clear to anyone who regularly watches his speeches and listens to what he says. It was just last month Biden was calling out for deceased Congresswoman Jackie Walorski at an event. The infamous “Where’s Jackie?” incident. Some tried to make excuses for that flub but it was abundantly clear he simply forgot she had passed away back in August in a car accident.
Each one of these events further illustrates the peril of letting Joe Biden run for a second term. At times it appears he doesn’t know where he is or have a context of his surroundings and the timeline of events in his head. This wasn’t the first Biden gaffe and it certainly won’t be the last.
