Don’t Believe the ‘Joe Biden Is a Centrist’ Lie Being Peddled by the Media

If Joe Biden is a centrist, does that mean Joe Manchin is a right-wing militia leader? Where do these newfound pragmatic centrist values suddenly discovered by Biden seem to be manifesting?

If you pay attention to what’s coming out of the White House recently, it’s anything but centrist.

As of today, the President is announcing a new executive order aimed (sorry, couldn’t resist) at expanding universal background checks for firearm purchases. The goal of the order is to act as broadly as possible without congressional authority to further impose background check requirements in every possible gun sale:

President Biden will sign a new executive order on Tuesday during a visit to Monterey Park, Calif., that the White House says could boost the number of background checks that are supposed to take place before a gun is purchased.

The order calls on the attorney general and other administration officials to come up with a plan to deal with firearm sellers who are avoiding doing the background checks, or who do not realize they are required to do them.

The White House said the attorney general will determine the specifics of the plan, so there are no details yet on how the administration will increase background checks or what the timeline for the plan is.

So… there’s no actual plan here? The order is merely language that directs Biden’s subordinates to look into making a plan to enforce existing laws. Imagine if they had this same sense of urgency with, say, immigration law, for example.

If anyone has been keeping score in recent years, there are few instances where mass shootings were stopped because an individual failed a background check. In many cases, such as the horrific events in Uvalde, Texas, the killer passed a background check despite having potential flags as a troubled juvenile. The issue, of course, is that a background check is only as good as the information being checked.

Biden’s gun order is mainly window dressing on an issue his party has failed to gain any traction on and yet another example of playing to the left-wing base, not moving the center.

On another front, as several states around the country move to protect minors from the abuse of hormone-blocking drugs and permanent physical mutilation in the pursuit of transitioning a child from one gender to another, the Biden administration is moving in the opposite direction.

Biden: “It’s not like a kid wakes up one morning and says, ‘you know, I decided I want to become a man or I want to become a woman'”

Actually, in many cases, that’s precisely what happens, and the adults around them, whether parents or teachers, simply start affirming the urges rather than seeking help or letting the phase pass. Some adults instruct children that they can “choose” their gender at an age or tell them they can simply decide to change their gender whenever they want, then they work toward making it happen.

We don’t let children drive cars until certain ages, we don’t let them smoke cigarettes until a certain age, we don’t let them consume alcohol until a certain age, we don’t let them vote until a certain age, we don’t let them buy a house until a certain age, we don’t let them do many, many, many things until they reach an age when society believes they can finally start making more informed, wiser choices for themselves. Even then, many of us still weren’t making the best decisions at 18 or 21 but at some point, society has to let you fail for the sake of learning.

Yet, for some reason, people like Biden are under the impression that physically castrating a boy or physically mutilating a girl is acceptable at practically any age as a form of “treatment” for gender dysphoria or depression. The permanent alterations being imposed on children are leading to more suicidal thoughts and further depression among the group of children allegedly being treated.

Someone should ask the President at what age he believes it’s OK to sterilize a child permanently in life since that is in most cases the outcome of gender-affirming care. Is it acceptable at age 5? 8? 10? 12? 16? What’s the cut-off when we think a child is too young to undergo life-altering surgery at the behest of the adults around them?

The backlash against the abuse of children under the guise of “gender-affirming care” is starting to pick up steam and Biden is certainly not on the “centrist” side of things, he’s far to the extreme left.

As the Economist reports, many now-adults who were where transitioned as children are taking up legal cases against some of the institutions and adults around them who enabled childhood mutilation:

On February 22nd a lawsuit was filed that could mark the start of a backlash. Chloe Cole, an 18-year-old who has become a voice for detransitioners in America, is suing Kaiser Permanente, a large American medical provider, for medical negligence. Ms Cole decided at the age of 12 that she was a boy, was put on puberty blockers and testosterone at 13 and underwent a double mastectomy at 15, before changing her mind and detransitioning at 16.

The complaint, filed in California by the Centre for American Liberty, a conservative non-profit that supports Ms Cole, accuses Kaiser of performing a “mutilating, mimicry sex-change experiment” on a vulnerable girl instead of focusing on her complex mental health. Her lawyer, Harmeet Dhillon, said medical professionals “permanently disfigured her for profit”. Ms Cole, whose lawyers say she meets the criteria for being on the autism spectrum, says she is particularly concerned about her fertility and about pain and discomfort caused by skin grafts.

With the way Biden speaks so cavalierly on the subject, you’d think it was a totally uncontroversial issue that people just need to get over.

On the contrary, many leaders have seen the damage done to children who are incapable of making such permanent life-altering decisions at young ages and are seeking to put a stop to it in their states.

The “centrist” position, if you could argue for one, would be to view the issue as unsettled medical and psychological science and allow states to make their own judgments on the procedures and practices being imposed on children in their jurisdictions. There is sharp disagreement among doctors and other medical professionals as to whether physical mutilation or hormone-blocking treatments on children are a form of medical care or actually a form of harmful medical experimentation.

Biden is way outside the mainstream on this topic by seeking to impose a federal law and standard that would ensure children could continue to be abused for political purposes to serve the progressive transgender agenda.
