Former President Donald Trump will be delivering two campaign speeches this week with both events taking place on Tuesday, April 2.
The first speech on Tuesday will be exclusively focused on excoriating the Biden administration’s failure to secure the southern border. Trump will speak from Michigan and highlight the recent case of Ruby Garcia, a woman shot and killed by a previously-deported illegal alien with a long wrap sheet, as CBS News reports:
The former president will deliver remarks on what the campaign is calling “Biden’s Border Bloodbath,” the release said.
This visit comes after recent attacks from Michigan Republicans on Biden’s immigration policies.
“Joe Biden is allowing an invasion at our border and now West Michigan is dealing with the preventable murders in our backyard,” said Pete Hoekstra, a former congressman and current Michigan GOP chair. “President Trump will secure our border and protect Michigan families when elected in November. I look forward to welcoming him back in West Michigan next week for this important discussion.”
Hoesktra’s statement refers to a homicide that recently happened in the Grand Rapids area. Brandon Ortiz-Vite, 25, a citizen of Mexico, has been charged in the fatal shooting of 25-year-old Ruby Garcia, whom he was in a relationship with. Ortiz-Vite was deported to Mexico in 2020 but had reentered the U.S. illegally after that.
The Biden administration has abandoned any sense of protection on the southern border and seems to have no concern over the rising crime and humanitarian crisis building around the country.
Later in the day on Tuesday, Trump will speak at a rally in Wisconsin:
Former President Donald Trump is coming to Wisconsin for a campaign rally on the day of the state’s presidential primary.
Trump will appear in Green Bay on April 2, the campaign announced Tuesday.
Trump has already won enough delegates to clinch the Republican nomination for president, making Wisconsin’s primary largely symbolic. But the visit will serve as a kickoff of the former president’s general election campaign in Wisconsin, a state that is thought to be a must-win for the nation’s next president.
You can catch both events live right here on Tuesday.
