Democrats Quickly Trash Their Own Primary Voters

It didn’t take long for the party calling Donald Trump a “threat to democracy” to throw its democratic primary process out the window overnight.

Democrats are giddy today thinking that maybe, just maybe, they found a way to compete with Donald Trump in November. All they had to do was pull a political coup in the White House and convince Joe Biden to unwillingly drop out of the race. What happens next is more of the unknown as the party moves forward trying to coalesce around a presumptive nominee to replace the sitting president.

As Briana Lyman writes at The Federalist, however, if Biden can’t run for president, he can’t serve as president:

If Biden is too senile to run for president, he is too senile to remain in office.

Biden said in a statement it “has been the greatest honor of my life to serve as your President. And while it has been my intention to seek reelection, I believe it is in the best interest of my party and the country for me to stand down and to focus solely on fulfilling my duties as President for the remainder of my term.”

But if Biden is permitted to remain in office for the next six months, then the “party of Democracy” just signaled that 14 million primary voters engaged in nothing more than perfunctory democracy. That is, one in which votes mean naught because a handful of D.C. elites have the ultimate say when their power suddenly is put on the line.

The Democratic Party just single-handedly crippled one of its most frequently-used arrows heading into peak election season. Screaming about January 6 and Donald Trump being a threat to democracy is hard when your party just told 14 million voters to go pound sand. The Democratic Party couldn’t care less about the democratic process if it tried. It’s a top-down, authoritarian party modeled after the Soviet Union Politburo.

Once again, it’s the power brokers inside the D.C. Beltway controlling who wins and who loses in politics, voters are just bystanders. Democrats don’t realize it yet but this move plays directly into the hands of Donald Trump, the only one who seems to be standing outside the game throwing penalty flags on behalf of the American people.

The dust hasn’t yet settled on the political palace intrigue gripping Washington but when it does, Democrats may find themselves on the short end of the stick when comes to public approval, writes Lyman:

Democrats are playing politics at the expense of our safety and well being as a nation by allowing Biden to remain in the presidency. Biden’s senility isn’t just a political liability, but a security one as well. Democrats have the opportunity to put people over party. Whether they’re willing to do what’s right for the good of the order is another question.

The conspiracy to keep Joe Biden in the basement and out of the public eye should crash on everyone around him, especially Kamala Harris. The Vice President, on many occasions, assured America that Biden was in top shape and perfectly capable of executing his duties. A bald-faced lie that was exposed on June 27 when Biden melted down on the debate stage and couldn’t be rescued by handlers.

This fact must be hung around Harris’ neck at every opportunity. This is not the party that cares about the country or cares about the plight of the working class, it’s the party that cares about power and control, nothing more.

Democrats are playing with fire and, hopefully, they’ll get consumed by it.
