More Pressure Builds for Joe Biden to Drop out Now

Another day, another litany of embarrassing stories about President Joe Biden’s deteriorating mental state.

First and foremost, however, let’s back up a day or two. Biden clearly stated on Wednesday, before Americans headed into the Independence Day holiday, that he was the nominee and had zero intention of dropping out:

Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris joined an all-staff campaign call and pushed back at mounting pressure for the 81-year-old incumbent president to bow out following a disastrous debate performance last week that has thrust his campaign into chaos.

“The past few days have been tough. I’m sure you’re getting a lot of calls, and I’m sure many of you have questions as well,” Biden told the campaign, according to a source familiar with the conversation. “Let me say this as clearly as I possibly can and as simply and straightforward as I can: I am running.

“I’m the nominee of the Democratic Party,” Biden added. “No one’s pushing me out. I’m not leaving. I’m in this race to the end, and we’re going to win because when Democrats unite, we always win.”

That sounds pretty definitive. Either Biden is still oblivious to his failed presidency or his wife told him he’s not dropping out, one of the two.

Would he be expected to say anything different? Any waffling at this point will be seen as blood in the water.

The critics, however, from within Biden’s circle of donors and advisors, seem to be getting louder.

Sounds like staff in the Biden campaign and the White House are downright miserable as they continue on this sinking ship, according to Axios:

Many White House, Biden campaign and Democratic officials are increasingly worried that President Biden isn’t up to continuing his campaign or finishing a second term, despite his insistence that he won’t be pushed out.

Why it matters: Outside pressure for Biden to drop his re-election bid grew wider and louder on the Fourth of July, especially from major donors. Doubts also are rising inside the house.

The big picture: “Everyone is miserable, and senior advisers are a total black hole,” a White House official told Axios. “Even if you’re trying to focus on work, nothing is going to break through or get any acknowledgment” from bosses.

A high-ranking Democratic National Committee official told Axios: “The only thing that can really allay concerns is for the president to demonstrate that he’s capable of running this campaign.”

“Everything else feels like ‘Weekend at Bernie’s’ by his inner circle to prop him up.”

Depressing, but entertaining for the rest of us on the outside to watch these liars and deceivers get what they deserve. It was painfully obvious that Joe Biden has been declining for years but the pushback was always immediate and strong. Joe’s fine, they’d say, while shrieking that Trump is a threat to democracy!!!!!!!

Domestically, Democrats have covered for him because they couldn’t envision turning on their own, a move that would embolden Donald Trump. However, for what it’s worth, world leaders at the recent G7 meeting tried to tiptoe around the fact that Biden was mentally out to lunch:

The chorus of voices that want the oldest American president (he’s 81) to step aside is growing louder, not only at home but also among nations that in the past months and years made excuses for the president’s wobbly syntax and gaffes. That’s because the prospect of Trump returning to the White House was seen by Western capitals as the bigger threat.

European officials are now saying privately — and more forcefully — that Biden should step aside for someone with a better shot at beating Trump and preserving allied unity on Ukraine and NATO, people familiar with the matter said. There is anxiety about how Biden will present at a NATO summit he is due to host in the US next week, where his every move, gesture and word will be scrutinized in an unforgiving light.

The problem for Democrats, en masse, is that they’re trying to throw Biden out the back door without offending him. He is, after all, the most senior elder statesman in the party right now, both in years served and, well, years lived. There’s a behind-the-scenes dance happening to gently push Biden off the ticket without hurting his massive ego. Good luck with that.

Then there are reports like these which further evidence the sick role First Lady Jill Biden is playing in the ongoing public humiliation of her husband:

Jill Biden quietly fed lines into President Joe Biden’s ear, reminding him of a megadonor’s name and telling him to thank them, New York Magazine’s Intelligencer reported, citing an unnamed witness to the exchange.

According to the report, Biden stared blankly and nodded his head while greeting one Democratic megadonor and a family friend at the White House recently, when the First Lady stepped in.

The outlet didn’t specify the donor’s name or when the supposed exchange took place.

The person said Biden repeated the same words his wife had told him, according to the outlet.

“It hasn’t been good for a long time, but it’s gotten so, so much worse,” the person told Intelligencer.

Jill knows full well her husband is not capable of the job and she probably knew it before he even ran in 2020. He can trot out for a few hours, maybe, and sound coherent, sort of. That’s the best you’re gonna get. However, late-evening or nighttime events are bad news.

It’s all fine, though, because Joe has put his finger on the issue. He just needs more sleep, according to CNN:

President Joe Biden told Democratic governors during a meeting at the White House on Wednesday that part of his plan going forward is to stop scheduling events after 8 p.m. so that he can get more sleep, according to three sources briefed on his comments.

Memo to America’s enemies, you’re free to go nuts overnight, Joe’s getting to bed early.

If this wasn’t real it would be a Saturday Night Live sketch. Suddenly, Donald Trump is the boring candidate just trying to bring back economic prosperity. Joe Biden is the trainwreck of calamity with an arguably evil wife propping him to run a campaign he’s desperately not cut out for.

Oh, did you hear? Joe Biden came out this week as the first “black woman” vice president:
