Not Adding Up: The Secret Service Narrative Is Full of Holes

As the investigation into the massive security failure at the July 13 Trump rally continues, it appears Secret Service Director Kimberly Cheatle is either lying or incompetent, take your pick.

While Cheatle has been speaking out and taking no responsibility or accountability for almost getting a former president killed, she’s continued to deflect any criticism of her agency and defend her actions leading up to the event.

In a recent revelation, Cheatle stated to the Daily Mail that the SS was aware of the roof the shooter was perched on but decided not to station an agent there because it had a slight incline. Are you kidding me?

According to Cheatle, the roof the shooter had no problem scaling posed a safety hazard for any officer or team that may have been placed there to observe or deter any would-be assassin. It was simply too dangerous to place a team on a roof with a gentle slope, she says, because, ya know, safety, or something.

It took about five seconds for critics to point out the glaring inconsistency in Cheatle’s statement given the rampant visual evidence now flooding social media:

The shooter’s roof, on the left in the images above, appears to have a lower slope than the roof on the right where the counter-sniper team was posted near the rally stage. It’s inconceivable to say that a minor slope was a valid reason for leaving a wide-open roof unprotected and unfettered for a sniper. It’s a dereliction, to say the least.

Furthermore, you can clearly see from the air that the shooter’s roof appears to have less slope and is in a very obvious and clear line of sight to the rally stage, there should’ve been no circumstance or situation where someone wasn’t stationed on that roof and the line of sight wasn’t mitigated with a sign or other large object:

Very often these large outdoor events will be corraled off with tractor trailers or other means of preventing a direct line of sight view to the stage. Why wasn’t that done? Why was there a gapingly obvious hole in the security perimeter?

Add to these facts that reports now indicate law enforcement was aware of the shooter’s presence for 30 minutes before the shooting took place, why wasn’t Trump pulled off the stage until the area was cleared?

Channel 11 News uncovered dramatic new details Monday in the moments leading up to the assassination attempt on former president Donald Trump. According to multiple law enforcement sources, Thomas Crooks was spotted by law enforcement on a roof nearly 30 minutes before shots were fired that injured Trump, killed a former fire chief and injured two others in the crowd.

According to multiple sources, a law enforcement officer had also previously seen Crooks on the ground and called him in as a suspicious person with a picture prior to 5:45 p.m. Our sources tell us an officer checked the grounds for Crooks at that point, but did not see him where the first picture was taken.

26 minutes after the second picture of Crooks was taken by law enforcement and the information called in, shots were fired from the roof of the American Glass Research building. Seconds later, a Secret Service sniper returned fire and killed Crooks.

Daming, to say the least. What is Cheatle thinking in still defending her agency’s actions?

Continuing the long line of no one in the Biden administration taking responsibility for any failings at any time, Cheatle has said she will remain in her role leading the Secret Service.

Cheatle is a disgrace and should step down immediately, no questions asked. She’s making excuses and continuing to claim that her agency, under her command, acted appropriately enough to keep former President Trump safe. The mounting evidence says otherwise. Mistakes were made that almost took a former president within a half-inch of his life.

She’s a swamp bureaucrat only interested in keeping her job, not the people her agency is supposed to be protecting.

Maybe her boss will do something? Oh wait, he’s not sure if the SS Director is a “he” or “she”:
