NY Times: Dem Donors Withholding $90 Million Until Biden Drops Out

This is not the kind of money bomb most politicians hope for.

With increased scrutiny over Joe Biden’s narcissistic venture to remain in the Oval Office despite obvious and dangerous shortcomings, many of his donors are pushing pause on funding a losing cause.

If Biden chooses to continue, he’ll be relying on smaller donors and other means of competing on the national stage, according to the New York Times:

Some major Democratic donors have told the largest pro-Biden super PAC, Future Forward, that pledges worth roughly $90 million are now on hold if President Biden remains atop the ticket, according to two people who have been briefed on the conversations.

The frozen contributions include multiple eight-figure commitments, according to the two people, who spoke on the condition of anonymity given the sensitivity of the situation. The decision to withhold such enormous sums of money is one of the most concrete examples of the fallout from Mr. Biden’s poor debate performance at the end of June.

Ouch, that one hurts.

For a president with dwindling approval ratings and a total inability to articulate why you should think his policies are awesome, he’ll be relying on advertising and other means for his messaging game come November. Remember, according to Joe, the voters are just not yet aware of how great they have it under his presidency.

This recent revelation comes on the heels of a lot of donors pressing pause after the disastrous debate last month:

The Biden campaign has struggled to reap donations in the aftermath of President Biden’s dismal debate against former President Donald Trump, according to a report.

Contributions from large donors alone could be down by more than half this month and are lower across the spectrum, according to NBC News.

“It’s already disastrous,” a source close to the re-election effort told the outlet about the state of fundraising for the Biden campaign.

“The money has absolutely shut off,” another person close to the campaign said.

This doesn’t mean all Democratic fundraising will dry up but a lot of it is slowing down when it comes to supporting Biden specifically. Surely left-wing groups will spend money trying to hold the Senate and take over the House, though these too could be lost causes with Joe bringing down his party.

They say money talks in politics and when the money dries up, the campaign is usually over. This won’t be the case for Joe Biden given his war chest is already sizable enough to compete but it will leave him handicapped more than he already is heading into the Fall.

In other news, congratulations to Vice President Trump.
