As it turns out, everyone Joe Biden likes seems to be above the law.
With the recent revelation that President Biden issued a sweeping and unprecedented pardon of his son, it looks like the pardon train is still chugging along with some head-scratching news.
According to multiple reports, the Biden administration is considering preemptive pardons of officials like Dr. Anthony Fauci, former Representative Liz Cheney, and a list of others who are perceived “enemies” of the incoming Trump administration, reports CBS News:
President Biden is considering blanket preemptive pardons for prominent critics of President-elect Donald Trump in both parties to shield them from possible “retribution” or legal prosecution by the incoming administration.
Multiple people familiar with the ongoing discussions tell CBS News the president has debated with senior White House aides the possibility of issuing the preemptive pardons, but no specific names have been formally recommended to him. The concept of preemptive pardons, and names of people who could benefit from them, have been more rigorously discussed among administration officials expected to help Mr. Biden make final determinations, a group that includes White House Chief of Staff Jeffrey Zients and White House Counsel Ed Siskel.
The list includes Dr. Anthony Fauci, who helped coordinate the nation’s COVID-19 response and later served as Mr. Biden’s top science adviser; retired Gen. Mark A. Milley, former chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, who has called Trump a “fascist” and provided information for several books and news reports detailing the former president’s behavior and activities around the Jan. 6, 2021 insurrection at the U.S. Capitol; California Democratic Senator-elect Adam Schiff, and other Democratic and Republican lawmakers who led the two impeachment cases against Trump or sat on the House committee that reviewed the Jan. 6 attack — a group that includes former Wyoming Republican congresswoman Liz Cheney, who actively campaigned against Trump this past fall.
It’s quite something that the most virtuous people in the room will need some kind of legal protection from possible crimes they may have committed. Why does someone like Liz Cheney need a pardon unless she outright committed a crime? The same goes for General Mark Milley.
On the one hand, this may be the most foolish thing the Biden team has ever floated because it makes everyone on the list look immediately guilty.
Among the names, only Dr. Anthony Fauci would seem the most vulnerable to prosecution, given the body of evidence gathered against him. The man has been caught lying on multiple occasions concerning gain-of-function research funding and the origin of the COVID-19 pandemic.
If anyone needs to be investigated and held accountable for damages over the past several years, it’s Fauci:
Fauci’s concern about an indictment is likely due to his involvement in the cover-up of the coronavirus and his major role in lockdowns — which ushered in the era of mass mail-in balloting that contributed to extreme irregularities during the 2020 election. Fauci recently admitted to Congress that there was no scientific evidence to support the six-foot “social distancing” guidelines he advocated for. This guidance was used to justify the draconian stay-at-home orders implemented during the pandemic. While Americans were forced to close their businesses down because of Fauci’s guidance, Fauci made sure that federal agencies under his leadership were receiving hundreds of millions in pharmaceutical royalties.
Fauci did major damage to countless Americans. Whether it was closed businesses leading to bankruptcies, school children with learning loss, or civil rights violations like closing churches but keeping retail stores open. Fauci is a villain.
Liz Cheney and Adam Schiff are dishonorable partisan hacks who made a name for themselves attacking Trump. They’re probably guilty of destroying evidence, especially of an exculpatory nature, but compared to Fauci, they’re sideshows.
The left-wing media, including CBS, frames the issue as Biden preventing so-called “retribution” against his critics. That’s a gross mischaracterization.
If crimes were committed, people should be held accountable to the American people. If Anthony Fauci lied about funding or withheld information intentionally, he should be prosecuted for crimes against the country. The same for Liz Cheney and other members of the Jan 6 committee. If they destroyed evidence or withheld evidence, they should face consequences for their actions.
If the entirety of Joe Biden’s presidency was summed up in one word, it would be unaccountability.
There has been zero accountability for any failures within the Biden administration or anyone in Biden’s orbit who openly fights against Donald Trump. They can do whatever they want by whatever means necessary to attack Biden’s top political opponent and face no consequences. Instead, Joe Biden wants to reward his loyal servants with preemptive pardons in case they had to crack a few eggs to make an omelet along the way.
It cannot be overstated just how bad of a president Biden has been for the country. His single failed term has been a study of why career politicians don’t deserve endless job promotions.
