The fireworks went off early and often as Democrats attempted to pin Robert F. Kennedy Jr. as a quack or extremist when it came to vaccines and other matters related to his nomination as Secretary of Health and Human Services. Notably missing from any Democrat on the committee was genuine concern or intrigue as to why American children are so unhealthy and why chronic disease is such a major problem in the United States compared to other industrialized nations.
Thanks to Eric Daugherty on X for providing the best clips so far from day one of Kennedy’s confirmation hearings.
🚨 RFK Jr: Diabetes is 10x more prevalent. Cancer is rising. Autoimmune diseases, asthma, depression, addiction, other conditions… are all on the rise. The U.S. has worse health than any developed nation, and yet we spend more than everyone else. We can't be a strong nation… pic.twitter.com/d1fLJhi4T1

Wow.
RFK JR: "The first thing I've done every morning for the past 20 years – is get on my knees and pray to God that He would put me in a position to end the chronic disease epidemic and to help America's children." pic.twitter.com/YaOyMQZctM

One of the best moments was the laugter after Kennedy stated that he wouldn’t ban one of Donald Trump’s favorite drinks:
🚨 LMAO.
RFK: If you want a McDonald's cheeseburger, a Diet Coke – which my boss loves – you should be able to get them. But you should know what the impacts are on your health. pic.twitter.com/FFr5qlAXm3

JUST IN: RFK Jr. makes a perfect point to senators about the state of our country's health
RFK: We cannot live up to our role as an exemplary nation, as a moral authority – when we are writing off an entire generation of our kids. pic.twitter.com/24NrYZ1KQI

Sen. Ron Wyden, Democrat from Montana, got into a heated debate and lost:
🚨 SMACKDOWN ALERT: Senator Ron Wyden (D) takes a comment from RFK Jr. out of context and it IMMEDIATELY backfired.
WYDEN: You say you're not anti-vax, but in a podcast in 2023, you said 'no vaccine is safe and effective.' Are you lying to us, or did you lie then?
RFK: This… pic.twitter.com/1voYtsmWOp

SENATOR BENNET (D): Mr. Kennedy is right. If we don't change the way we eat, 40% of them are going to suffer from diabetes because of their diet. pic.twitter.com/u1cxg2Bimy

🚨 RFK JR: I agree with President Trump that every abortion is a tragedy. I agree that we cannot be a moral nation if we have 1.2M abortions per year. The states should control abortion… Trump has told me he wants to end late-term abortions, and he wants to protect conscience… pic.twitter.com/hlrQcsnkgd

🚨 RFK Jr. just laid down the law on Democrats opposing his confirmation.
He says they used to be their friends. Not anymore.
RFK: All these Democrats are opposed to me for partisan issues. They used to be my friends, agreed with me on environmental issues. Now they're against… pic.twitter.com/Z15uL6C5AA

RFK JR: You're asking me not to sue pharma companies!
SENATOR WARREN: No, I, am, NOT!! My question is STOP ENRICHING!
RFK: Yes you are. That's exactly what you're doing.
WARREN: NO ONE should be fooled here! pic.twitter.com/HCQewcJ9a6

Also, if you thought the media would cover the hearing fairly, the nasty headlines were already written before it started:
Astounding. Reporters at RFK hearing have pre-written negative headlines. pic.twitter.com/CY5VGXJH2O
