On Monday, President-elect Donald Trump was officially certified the winner of the 2024 presidential election. The formalities took place without hiccups but brought us some priceless footage of Vice President Harris presiding over Trump’s win and certifying her own loss.
It’s customary, and constitutional, of course, for the Vice President to preside over certification of the electoral college votes. The look on Harris’ face was only matched by House Speaker Mike Johnson who appeared as if he had just seen a ghost or perhaps realized the country had just dodged President Kamala Harris and Vice President Tim Walz:

The garbage media can only view this day through the lens of the events four years ago. For example, every mainstream article covering the election certification is loaded with heavy references to the “insurrection” in 2021. The Associated Press wins the award for the most pearl-clutching:
Congress certified President-elect Donald Trump as the winner of the 2024 election in proceedings Monday that unfolded without challenge, in stark contrast to the Jan. 6, 2021, violence as his mob of supporters stormed the U.S. Capitol.
But Trump’s legacy from 2021 leaves an extraordinary fact: The candidate who tried to overturn the previous election won this time and is legitimately returning to the White House, his inauguration in two weeks.
While Monday’s outcome revived a U.S. tradition that launches the peaceful transfer of presidential power, what’s unclear is if Jan. 6, 2021, was the anomaly or if this year’s calm becomes the outlier.
It’s over. Let it go, Associated Press. Let it go.
The American people spoke decisively and put Trump back in the White House. The tone about the “mob of supporters” that stormed the capitol is over the top and more dangerous than it is helpful right now. It’s only liberal journalists wallowing in their personal hatred for Trump that care about Jan 6.
Democrats, with the help of legacy Republicans like Liz Cheney, spent millions of dollars and man-hours drumming up controversy with hearings and televised committees meant to destroy Trump’s chances of ever winning the presidency. The Jan 6 insurrection was so vile, you see, that we simply cannot let this man near the Oval Office ever again. America disagreed with that assessment and here we are. Never mind the deleted evidence and crimes committed by Cheney et al. on the way out the door.
America won on Monday by putting Trump back in charge and kicking woke-obsesses Democrats to the curb. Kamala Harris helped tie the knot on this bow and will go down as a footnote in Trump’s legacy.
