Not everybody is jumping on the “trash Moore” bandwagon. Sean Hannity has been a strong voice of support for Roy Moore, the Alabama candidate in the special election to fill the seat of Attorney General Jeff Sessions. The White House has called the charges “mere” accusations. But Steve Bannon has gone on full attack.
Sean Hannity continues to say that there is no proof that Moore is guilty. That has not set well with liberals. The Daily Caller notes that Media Matters has waged a campaign to bring down Hannity by getting advertisers to turn against him, including the example of Kuerig.
Left-wing activist group Media Matters is using scandalous allegations surrounding Alabama GOP Senate candidate Roy Moore as a new weapon in their months-long campaign to oust Fox News host Sean Hannity by pressuring sponsors into pulling their advertisements. . .
Angelo, thank you for your concern and for bringing this to our attention. We worked with our media partner and FOX news to stop our ad from airing during the Sean Hannity Show.

Media Matters’ effort to defund Hannity comes after they and other left-wing activists successfully pressured Fox News into firing Bill O’Reilly following sexual harassment allegations against the host.
In response, Hannity fans have been smashing their Kuerig coffeemakers out of spite. But the company made peace with Hannity, who told viewers to stop destroying their coffeemakers. Presumably, they will have to go out and replace the Kuerig products now.
But Steve Bannon, former Trump advisor and current head of Breitbart is doing more than talking in defense of Moore. And while Hannity blames Democrats, Bannon blames Republicans for the controversy.
Breitbart News Executive Chairman Stephen K. Bannon discussed the allegations of molesting an underage girl leveled against Alabama Senate candidate Roy Moore on Monday’s Breitbart News Daily. Bannon agreed with SiriusXM host Alex Marlow that Moore is the target of a “coordinated hit” by Democrats, the media, and Establishment Republicans. . .
“This is just another desperate attempt by Mitch McConnell to keep power, and it’s not going to work. You know, people in Alabama see through this. The good folks of Alabama are going to be able to weigh and measure this. Plenty of time to weigh and measure this, and to come to a conclusion, an independent conclusion, which the folks down there are obviously capable of doing. But this is an orchestrated hit from the Uniparty,” said Bannon.
Marlow cited a man-on-the-street report from an Alabama affiliate of ABC News that was unable to find anyone who believed the charges against Moore, and his own difficulty in finding callers for Breitbart News Daily who believed them, to suggest the credibility of the Washington Post is low with many voters. . .
“This was a Republican operative hit on Judge Moore,” Bannon declared. “The facts will be coming out over the next couple of days that this is a Republican operative hit from some of the usual suspects. I think it’s time to have a frank conversation, I think it’s time for the grassroots to have a frank conversation about, ‘Do you want to be associated with these people?’”
In fact, Bannon has decided to use the Breitbart organization to investigate Senate leader Mitch McConnell, who now says he believes the women who have made claims against Moore.
“One thing I do want to say about going back, what, 40 years on Judge Moore – one thing we’re going to start going through is Mitch McConnell. Mitch McConnell has got some controversial things that we haven’t brought to light, that we’ve been kind of looking at,” he added. “Mitch McConnell was in the Army, but he wasn’t in the Army that long. There’s a lot of controversy about why Mitch McConnell got rolled out of the Army. We’ve been doing some investigating, I guess you would say, into Brother McConnell’s earlier life. It’ll be interesting. I guess that what’s good for the goose is good for the gander.”
Gloria Allred has brought forth a fifth woman. This one charging actual physical abuse, although Moore denies the charges, according to the Washington Examiner.
The Alabama respnse? State Auditor Jim Zeigler says that sex between adult men and underage women is ok, according to the Washington Examiner. As an example, he noted that Joseph was an adult carpenter when he married Mary, who was already pregnant with Jesus. However, that comparison has not set well with many religious people.
Moore is still favored by the betting site, PredictIt, where his election is predicted by 54% of the bettors (as of 8am ET). Note that this is from people who “put money where their mouth is.”
The polls also show support for Moore, according to The Hill.
Roy Moore holds 10-point lead in poll taken after accusations
Republican Senate candidate Roy Moore holds a 10-point lead over his Democratic opponent, according to a new poll. The Emerson College survey found that Moore has the support of 55 percent of the Alabama voters polled, compared to 45 percent for the Democratic nominee, Doug Jones.
The poll was conducted from Nov. 9 to Nov. 11, after The Washington Post published its report in which a woman accused Moore of initiating sexual contact with her in 1979, when she was 14 and he was 32.
There has been talk of running a write-in candidate, since Alabama law won’t allow Moore’s name to be removed from the ballot. One possibility is Luther Strange, current, sitting senator, who was defeated in the Republican runoff primary, as noted by Fox News. Some have said that he has the name recognition, and it’s a lot easier to spell “Strange,” than when Lisa Murkowski won a write-in election to retain her seat from Alaska.
A more creative solution would be for Jeff Sessions to go back to the state to win his seat back, according to the Washington Examiner. He has the name recognition, is very popular in the state, and from all accounts, is not very popular with his boss in Washington—Donald J. Trump. Sessions could easily win the seat, and Trump could then find a more malleable attorney general.
