Fresh off some abysmal poll numbers for Congressional Democrats, President Joe Biden is now seeing more bad polling for him and his party, this time from the latest Quinnipiac poll showing the President’s approval numbers bottoming out in the high thirties. Just months ago, the same poll found Biden with an approval rating of 50%.
Now, however, Biden has sunk so far with every possible group of voters, he’s dropped into the 30s and there doesn’t seem to be any digging out:
Biden’s approval rating has dropped to 38%, according to a Quinnipiac University poll released Wednesday. That’s down from 42% three weeks ago and from a high of 50% in mid-February.
“Battered on trust, doubted on leadership, and challenged on overall competency, President Biden is being hammered on all sides as his approval rating continues its downward slide to a number not seen since the tough scrutiny of the Trump administration,” Quinnipiac University polling analyst Tim Malloy said in a prepared statement.
Democrats enjoyed harping on President Trump’s approval rating which often hovered in the low 40s. Biden’s numbers are now falling below that mark in a poll that usually favors Democrats. It’s pretty bad for a pollster to describe you as “challenged on overall competency” and “battered on trust.” Fewer and fewer Americans trust the President to do what’s in the best interest of the country or trust him to be able to actually execute his duties in a competent manner.
Every issue has gone down the tubes for Biden from foreign to domestic issues, he’s losing ground on every conceivable front:
Respondents panned his handling of the Afghanistan withdrawal, with only 28% saying the withdrawal was the right move. He had negative approval for his handling of the military, taxes, foreign policy, immigration and the Mexican border, according to the poll.
Biden also hit low points in the latest poll on two key questions: his handling of the COVID-19 pandemic and the economy. About half of those polled said they disapprove of the way he has handled the coronavirus, and 55% disapprove of his handling of the economy.
It’s one crisis of failed leadership after another, and one incompetent bungled policy after another. Remember booster shots for all Covid patients? That issue has been handled so badly Biden’s own health advisors are about to hold a mutiny.
Making matters worse, of course, is Biden’s total inability to get his legislative agenda passed. He visited Capitol Hill last week, for some reason, and managed to accomplish nothing in terms of moving his domestic spending agenda forward. He can’t sell moderates within his own party on his extreme progressive spending goals, so how is he going to sell it to the American people? No one wants to buy what liberals are selling and Biden’s clout seems nonexistent when it comes to twisting arms and making deals.
Vice President Kamala Harris, a virtual ghost in the Biden-Harris administration, isn’t helping buoy Biden’s agenda either. Harris seems intent on staying as far away as possible from whatever is happening in the Biden White House.
Week after week, it’s a continual stream of bad news and bad policies from the Biden administration leaving Americans more and more concerned over exactly who is running the country and wondering how much worse off things will get in the coming months.
