According to the number crunchers, Republican Glenn Youngkin entered Election Day with a slight advantage and once the polls closed on Tuesday night, he never gave it back. From Virginia Beach to the Southwestern part of the state, Youngkin overperformed numbers from Donald Trump in 2020 and overperformed in early voting as well.

Glenn Younkin has defeated Democrat Terry McAuliffe to become the next Governor of the Commonwealth of Virginia. The first to call the race was DecisionDeskHQ, a well-respected data firm that crunches the numbers independently.
Around 1 am ET on Wednesday, with more networks calling the race, Republican Glenn Youngkin took the stage at his election night party in Chantilly, Va.:

Former Gov. Terry McAuliffe offered some words on Tuesday night that seemed to acknowledge his loss, but his remarks fell short of a concession speech:

At 9:10 pm ET, DDHQ has now called the Attorney General race for Jason Miyares making for a clean Republican sweep of all three statewide races in Virginia:

Republicans also appear to be on the verge of taking control of the Virginia House of Delegates by flipping the necessary number of seats:
