Full Video: Fox News Trump Town Hall From Iowa (June 1)

Former President Donald Trump appeared on the Fox News Channel Thursday night for a pre-recorded Town Hall event from Iowa.

The forum was moderated by Sean Hannity and consisted mostly of questions from audience members in a style reminiscent of the CNN Trump Town Hall last month. The real question is whether conservatives, irked by Fox’s decision to fire Tucker Carlson last, will bother tuning in to drive up ratings during the 9 pm hour.

The network has continued hemorrhaging viewers across the entire primetime lineup and no doubt holding an event for Trump is an attempt to stop the bleeding.

Here are all the details below including the full video of the event.

For his part, Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis has spent a lot of time in Iowa recently and will be crisscrossing the state with multiple stops this week. Trump will be visiting local officials and doing a local radio interview before joining Hannity for the town hall event today:

Former President Donald Trump is set to rain on Gov. Ron DeSantis’s (R-FL) 2024 Iowa campaign blitz.

Trump will head to the Hawkeye State Wednesday and huddle with local officials and grassroots supporters before participating in a town hall hosted by Fox News’s Sean Hannity on Thursday. Meanwhile, DeSantis is slated to hold a campaign kickoff event in Des Moines Tuesday evening, followed by a four-city Iowa blitz on Wednesday.

For Trump, Wednesday’s trip will also feature an interview with Simon Conway of 1040 WHO Des Moines, according to his campaign. Then on Thursday, Trump will headline the Westside Conservative Breakfast in Urbandale and huddle with local faith leaders in Des Moines.

DeSantis’s four-city swing will encompass stops in Sioux City, Council Bluffs, Pella, and Cedar Rapids. On Thursday, he will travel to New Hampshire before barnstorming South Carolina on Friday.

The governor publicly announced his campaign last week with a glitch-plagued Twitter Spaces rollout. He is widely regarded as Trump’s top GOP primary threat but trails him by over 30 points in the latest RealClearPolitics polling aggregate.

Iowa has become a key battleground for Republicans in 2024 ever since Trump lost the state, by a slim margin, to Ted Cruz in 2016. Trump would go on to subsequently win in New Hampshire, South Carolina, and Nevada, setting him up to win the nomination.

DeSantis is hoping that beyond the current odds, Iowa could be the place where his appeal to grassroots conservatives that have soured some on Trump’s message might find his new brand appealing. According to the most recent poll numbers, the support isn’t there yet but we’re still quite a long way off.

On the Trump side, the former president is spending a lot more time and money in the state to ensure a victory this time around rather than leave it to chance or rest on his laurels.

Tune in at 9 pm tonight for Trump’s Town Hall event or come back here later for the full video after it airs.
