As noted by many analysts, with Florida Sen. Marco Rubio reportedly on Trump’s shortlist, and planning to attend, the Miami rally in primetime could present an opportunity for an announcement:
The primetime scheduling and location would seem to provide an ideal opportunity to unveil his pick if it is Florida Sen. Marco Rubio, a Miami native who is one of his top contenders.
Rubio will be in attendance at the event, according to an adviser familiar with the senator’s plans, who, like others, spoke on condition of anonymity about the selection process.
What seems more likely, however, would be an announcement at the very start or even during the Republican National Convention around July 15. However, with Trump being Trump, he’ll announce when he thinks the return on publicity will be the highest and most impactful.
