Watch Live: JD Vance Speaks Today at the March for Life in Washington, DC (Jan. 24)

Vice President JD Vance will address the 2025 March for Life in person today along with President Trump who will address the crowd via video. This will be Vance’s first public speech since taking the Oath of Office as Vice President on Monday.

Other speakers include Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis, House Speaker Mike Johnson, Senator Majority Leader John Thune, and many more.

The March for Life began in 1974, one year after the U.S. Supreme Court’s landmark Roe v. Wade decision legalized abortion nationwide. It has since become an annual event in Washington, DC, where pro-life advocates gather to protest abortion and promote the protection of unborn children.

Trump’s video address is expected to happen around 4:30 pm ET, according to Politico:

The White House confirmed Trump’s remote appearance, which will happen around 4:30 p.m. on Friday.

March for Life also announced on Thursday that Vice President JD Vance will address the event in person, saying in a statement that it was “a sign of his commitment to standing up for life.”

The group’s outgoing and incoming presidents — Jeanne Mancini and Jennie Bradley Lichter — said they look forward to working with the new administration “as they dismantle the Biden Administration’s aggressive and unpopular abortion agenda and once again put wins on the board for vulnerable unborn children and their mothers.”

Trump became the first sitting U.S. president to speak at the March for Life in 2020, delivering a speech that highlighted his administration’s efforts to protect the unborn and defund organizations like Planned Parenthood. His appearance was a significant moment for the pro-life movement, as it showed the strong support of the White House for their cause.

Trump reaffirmed his commitment during the 2024 campaign to appointing pro-life judges and advancing policies aimed at promoting life.

On Thursday, President Trump pardoned several pro-lifers who could have spent years in prison at the hands of activist judges directed by the Biden administration, according to the Federalist:

The pardons, according to reporting from the Daily Wire, will extend to lawfare victims like Lauren Handy and 75-year-old Paulette Harlow, who are currently serving sentences in federal prisons for convictions brought under the Freedom of Access to Clinic Entrances (FACE) Act.

Bevelyn Williams, a mother who runs a Christian nonprofit that aims to help families in need, is also expected to benefit from the pardon. Williams faced a 41-month prison sentence handed down by a New York judge who “made it very clear in the courtroom that she was going to [make an] example out” of the pro-life activist for daring to protest at a Manhattan abortion facility in June 2020.

The Thomas More Society, which defended several of the peaceful protestors throughout the lawfare, submitted petitions for pardons to Trump last week on behalf of nearly two dozen people who they say were “unjustly imprisoned” and “unjustly convicted” simply because they prayed, sang, and evangelized at abortion facilities.

Here’s Trump signing the pardons in the Oval Office and making a few remarks:
