The 80/20 Rule: Dems More Upset at Spending Cuts Than Fixing Gov’t Waste

Democrats have successfully painted themselves into a corner of defending wasteful government bureaucracy. Good job, so-called party of the working class.

Whether it’s the mountain of tax dollars funding ridiculous projects from USAID or waste and fraud within the Social Security administration, Democrats in Congress are perfectly fine with leaving things as-is. If billions of dollars disappear to fraud or abuse, so be it, they say, at least we’re protecting the system. If millions of American tax dollars fund “LGBT activism” in Guatemala, that’s just a price working-class Americans have to pay to protect democracy or something.

President Trump was put back in the White House with a mandate to deal with this warped “protect the swamp” mentality. As demonstrated from experience during his first term, the President will need a chainsaw rather than a scalpel. The corruption runs deep and the system has been building a cocoon of self-protection for decades. The only true way to disinfect is to let the sun expose the innermost workings of where the money goes and who controls it.

This is something the Democratic Party is staunchly opposed to yet polling overwhelmingly shows the American people strongly desire. In essence, it’s an issue that Trump has found broad support for which reflexively leaves Democrats holding the bag in defense of waste, fraud, and bloated government.

In a recent poll, CBS News was likely disappointed to find Americans are giving Trump high marks for keeping his promises:

You simply cannot make up the absurdity of what the government spends tax dollars on but Democrats act like this is a normal, acceptable role for your tax dollars:

Naturally, having lost in the political arena, Democrats have turned to activist judges to try and slow down Trump’s dismantling of the deep state:

In recent days dozens of lawsuits have been filed against the Trump administration by Democrat attorneys general and various left-wing groups. These groups have carefully selected their venues, ensuring the lawsuits come before rabidly anti-Trump activist judges. So far, the tactic seems to be working. As of this past weekend, eight different rulings from the federal bench have temporarily halted the president’s executive orders.

Federal judges in Democrat-majority districts have issued preliminary injunctions blocking Trump’s executive actions to end birthright citizenship, reform and downsize the United States Agency for International Development, and offer buyouts to federal bureaucrats. A federal judge this past weekend blocked Elon Musk’s Department of Government Efficiency and all other political appointees in the Trump administration — including the Treasury secretary and his deputies — from accessing payment data at the Treasury Department.

If we put together the game board right now, it’s quite amazing.

On one side is President Trump, elected by an overwhelming majority in November, trying to curb abuses in government. He’s heard from working-class Americans and he’s bringing their concerns to Washington. He’s watched as billions of dollars flow to help and assist illegals while citizens in North Carolina still await their $700 FEMA checks. In short, Trump is the voice of the average American sickened by the size and scope of the federal government and its misplaced priorities.

At the other end, defending the interests of everyone and everything except Americans, is the Democratic Party. Figures like Sen. Chuck Schumer scream about cutting funds headed overseas to dubious activities the government should never be involved with. Frauds like Sen. Elizabeth Warren screech about federal agencies being trimmed and closed because they crept far outside their original scope of operation. The entirety of the Democratic Party sheds crocodile tears when one DC bureaucrat is placed on paid administrative leave but couldn’t care less if woke policies kill thousands of blue-collar jobs.

Elections have consequences and Democrats are playing a losing game right now. They oppose whatever Trump supports, support whatever Trump opposes, and generally exist to impede and stifle any attempt to reform and optimize the federal government.

In short, Democrats are happy when taxpayers are bilked out of billions to fund interests that have nothing to do with the best interests of American citizens. Trump instinctually knows this which is why he attracted a diverse coalition of voters who believe in his vision for America.

Democrats tried with Kamala Harris and they failed miserably to sell more of the same. They failed to sell bloated, unchecked bureaucracy and ever-expanding encroachment of the federal government.

If the Democratic Party has decided that defending bureaucrats and wasteful spending is their new party platform, they better start learning to enjoy losing.
